The Walker Men's Group meets for a potluck brunch the 4th Saturday of each month from 9:30 A. M. to noon at the home of one of the members. Following a filling, delectable brunch and a short business meeting (5 minutes as per agreement) the main purpose of the get together is for the men to "check in" with the rest of the group and share joys, concerns and life experiences. The Men's Group has a winter retreat and a summer canoe trip each year. Members of the Men's Group also volunteer to lead the sale of Christmas Wreaths as a fund raising activity for Walker. All Walker men are invited to join and participate in the meetings and it is not necessary to bring food or let the host know in advance that you will be coming. The location for the current month's meeting will be listed in the weekly announcements or the Walker Talker or on the calendar on the web site. Addresses for the hosts can be found in the Walker Directory. Typical attendance at a Men's Group potluck ranges from 8 to 15 men. The men participating generally view this as one of the best experiences associated with the Walker Community Church. |
