The Orange Gallery of Art in the Center of Walker (not to be confused with the Walker Art Center) is currently presenting work by Munir Kahar Sundays, noon – 3 pm. Munir lived for a time with Roger Lynn. Along with Laura Burlis, he painted the mural in the front entry at Walker. He was an artist in Indonesia. He was persecuted by the regime that didn’t like his art. He came to America. He tried to get a visa for his wife, but the U.S. Government denied it for years. Finally, the US has approved his wife’s visa. Now they need to raise money to bring her here. This event is to help raise funds for Munir and his wife. Beginning March 13 the Orange Gallery will present works by our Sunday School participants. The Orange Gallery of Art in the Center of Walker presents works by Walker artists, residents of the Powderhorn & Phillips neighborhoods, exhibits supporting the mission of Walker Church and other deserving artists.
