Tomorrow’s Light

There’s a light, ‘t’will shine tomorrow
F Bb
To lead us away from the selfish trails we follow
F C
And you’ll be there, where few have gone
Bb F
C
To find the light, and turn it on
But now there’s night, no path to follow
Just righteous words that in hard times seem so hollow
You seek just peace, yet you must be strong
To find the light, and turn it on

CH: Tomorrow is further than just a calendar page away

F Bb C
The road ahead seems to get longer every day
F
Bb C
But you are moved by passion deep inside your soul
Bb F
Bb F
Bb C
To make a stand and never ever ever let it go
You carry signs, in silent mourning
And pray the powers will notice and heed their warnings
Too many have died, too late for your son
To find the light, and carry on
You must connect, (YES YOU
MUST CONNECT) with the eyes of strangers (THE
EYES OF STRANGERS)
To chill their bones, with TALES OF IMPENDING DANGERS
That lurk near by (THAT LURK NEARBY), ‘cause no one’s GONE
TO FIND THE LIGHT OR TURN IT ON
They must not think (NO THEY
MUST NOT THINK) things are so bad(THEY
JUST DON’T SEE IT)
But if they’re wrong, they’ll surely curse THE PATH THE’VE HAD
That sees the blight (SEES THE BLIGHT), yet steers AWAY
Tomorrow’s light, is needed today
CH Tomorrow is further than just a calendar page away
What comes tomorrow stems from actions of today
And peace with justice will help to light your way
You must press on and change the world every single day
There’s a light, ‘t’will shine tomorrow
To lead us away from the selfish trails we follow
You’ll need your friends, TO WALK ALONG
TO FIND THE LIGHT, AND TURN IT ON
Yes, you’ll need your friends (ALL YOUR FRIENDS), to walk along
TO FIND THE LIGHT, AND TURN IT ON.
